I’m back in Athens this week continuing my job search, starting a mini internship, and catching up with friends.
Below is an excerpt from a journal entry I wrote earlier this week that I feel aligns with the goals of Journey with Jess - to embrace the process and focusing on the journey, not the destination.
It has served as encouragement for me as I’ve tacked several challenges already this week:
6/13/22
Hey you! Yes, you! You did great today! Today was productive and that is great! We’ll celebrate that, but also remember that your productivity is not what defines you or makes you worthy. Whether or not you’ve got the next step figured out does not change the value of all the things you have accomplished in the past. I am incredibly proud, not because of what you have done, but because of who you are. You do great things because of your values and your commitment to them. I’m so proud of you. This is going to be a great week! And so will the next! <3 Proud of you and all you will do, all you have done, but especially because of who you are.
Love you lots.
Sometimes you have to be your own hype person and there is nothing wrong with that!
Would love for you to engage with this post by writing your own encouraging note to yourself in the comments this week:
Here’s to a good day not because of what we do, but because of who we are!
Love & Cheers!
Jess
